Restier ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our desktop application and website (collectively, the "Service").

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: When you purchase a license, we collect your email address and payment information (processed by LemonSqueezy).
  • Support Communications: When you contact us for support, we collect the information you provide in your communications.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • License Validation: When validating your license, we collect your license key and a unique machine identifier.
  • Device Name: When you activate your license, we send your device name to LemonSqueezy to label the activation in your account.
  • Free Trial (anti-abuse): To start and protect the 14-day free trial per device, we may send a derived technical identifier (hash) of your installation and store the trial start time and last-check timestamps. This prevents the trial period from being reset simply by reinstalling the app or deleting local data.
  • Technical Network Data: When the application connects to our services (for example, for license validation or trial protection), our infrastructure provider (Cloudflare) may process technical data such as your IP address and user-agent for security, service delivery, and abuse prevention.
  • Usage Statistics: We may collect usage statistics without directly identifiable personal data (no emails or names). These statistics include information about how you use the application (for example, session durations or reminder settings) and are associated with a technical identifier of your installation so we can analyze usage over time.

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect any personal health data
  • We do not track your screen content or activities
  • We do not record any audio or video
  • We do not access your files or documents

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Process transactions and send related information
  • Send you technical notices, updates, and support messages
  • Respond to your comments, questions, and support requests
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share information only in the following situations:

  • Service Providers: We work with third parties who help us operate the Service, all of them hosted in data centers in the European Union or using an available EU region. For example:
    • LemonSqueezy for payment processing and license management.
    • Cloudflare Workers + D1 for trial start anchoring (per-device) to prevent trial resets.
    • Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregated website traffic statistics.
    • PostHog for product analytics in the desktop application (without emails or personal names).
    • Sentry for monitoring technical errors and improving application stability.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on your location and the applicable law, you may ask us to:

  • Access: Tell you what personal information we store directly about you (for example, license data or support communications).
  • Deletion: Delete or anonymize that information where technically feasible and where we are not legally required to keep it (for example, billing records).
